About Dr. Andrew Garner

I have been a family practice doctor for 32 years, in Glens Falls New York. I grew up in the Midwest, in Ohio and Indiana. I started out washing dishes in the hospital cafeteria, then became an Orderly in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1980 and worked my way up to a doctor.

I went to college in Bowling Green, Ohio and Medical School at Wright State University, School of Medicine in Dayton Ohio. I did my residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio in Family Medicine. I moved to Glens Falls, New York in 1990 and opened up a solo family medicine practice where I have been since then.

I truly enjoy being a physician. I count it such an honor and privilege to be able to become involved in peoples lives and being able to truly help them.

I met Dr. Garner in 1997 at Medi Call in Clifton Park. He was helping a fellow doctor by working one evening per week. I was quite impressed by the care he showed and the time he took to explain my situation. As a result, I have continued on to this day with him as my primary care physician. My experience with other family physicians between 1980 -1997 was to sit in the waiting room for at least a half an hour if not longer, then once being seen for maybe 10 minutes by the physician I felt rushed out the door. Dr. Garner's office is very efficient with the wait time being no longer than 5 minutes each visit. Between his nurse April and Dr. Garner they give me approximately 45 minutes of professional attention. I can't imagine a better and more thorough caring team to address my health care needs. Dr Garner has been my doctor for over 10 years. He always listens to my concerns about procedures. We then discuss the pros and cons. If I still don’t want to do something he doesn’t pressure me. When I had a dental procedure before Christmas and was having problems he called me right away to make sure everything was ok. The reassurance made all the difference.
